Pakenham Marketplace Transformed

Creating a new heart for the community

Pakenham Marketplace, located in Melbourne’s outer south-east within the fast-growing Cardinia Shire, has completed a major revitalisation designed to enhance the customer experience and strengthen its role as a community hub.

Anchored by Woolworths and Big W and home to 46 specialty retailers, the centre underwent significant upgrades in 2025 including a refreshed ambience, upgraded amenities, new furniture and signage, and a reimagined Central Hub focused on food, family, and connection.

A place to connect

At the heart of the transformation is the new Central Hub, anchored by Twisted Sista café, which has already become a popular gathering place for locals. The project also delivered a new indoor playground, expanded seating, and landscaped community areas designed to make everyday shopping more enjoyable and social.

Investing in communities

This project demonstrates Region Group’s ongoing investment in creating convenient, community-focused centres that deliver life’s essentials and contribute to local growth.

Shane Mole, National Manager – Projects, said: “This project was about more than bricks and finishes – it was about creating a place that people feel proud of and connected to.

“It’s rewarding to see the community already making use of the new Central Hub.”

Key highlights
